Highway 53 - Shingle Replacement
This 3,200 square foot residential home on Highway 53 in Burgaw was ready for a full roof replacement. The existing shingles had deteriorated past the point of repair, with granule loss, curling edges, and several areas where water had started to work its way through the underlayment.
Our crew completed a full tear-off on day one, stripping the entire roof down to the decking. We inspected every sheet of plywood for damage and replaced any sections that showed signs of rot or water intrusion. Once the deck was solid, we installed new synthetic underlayment across the entire surface for a modern moisture barrier.
On day two, we laid GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in Weathered Wood, a neutral tone that works well with the home's existing siding and trim. All pipe boots, vents, and flashing were replaced with new materials. Ridge cap shingles were installed along the peak with a continuous ridge vent underneath to improve attic airflow and reduce heat buildup.
By the end of day two, the job was complete. Full cleanup was done the same afternoon, including a magnetic sweep of the yard and driveway to pick up any stray nails. The homeowner was able to walk the property with us before we left to verify the finished work.
